Extracts from SPS Committee meeting summary reports

Argentina expressed interest in the notification of this measure permitting meat imports without heat treatment into Iceland since it appeared to open the market to higher quality beef, although this was not entirely clear from the notification. Iceland confirmed that meat could be imported without heat treatment, provided all necessary certificates and documents were submitted.
In March 2004, Argentina reported that the issue of Iceland's notification on meat and meat products had been resolved.
