In November 1999, Uruguay reported on problems with exports of meat and dairy products to El Salvador on sanitary grounds, although no concrete sanitary problems or regulations had been mentioned. The representative of El Salvador indicated that these concerns would be transmitted to the appropriate authorities. In November 2000, Uruguay reported that the issue had been resolved.
