6. Description of content

This Draft East African Standard specifies the requirements for commercial varieties of papaya (pawpaw) grown from Carica papaya L., of the Caricaceae family, to be supplied fresh to the consumer. This standard does not apply to papaya for industrial processing.

Note: This Draft East African Standard was also notified to the TBT Committee.
