- Standards and specifications for 18 food products will be established and about 9000 self-established standards and specifications will be codified, thereby adjusting the Food Code from the current 23 categories and 152 types to 20 categories and 169 types.- To improve the current labelling system, labelling requirements in the Food Code will be deleted. (A new labelling system will be established in the future.)- For the introduction of a manufacturer-determined-shelf-life (MDSL) system, mandatory shelf-life requirements in the Food Code will be deleted except for highly perishable items.
