The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) lifts the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from West-Vlaanderen, Belgium

El Organismo de Productos Alimenticios y Farmacéuticos de la Arabia Saudita (SFDA) suspende la prohibición temporal de las importaciones de carne y huevos de aves de corral, y sus productos provenientes de West-Vlaanderen (Bélgica).

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the notice administrative order No. 7195 dated 2 November 2017, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) in the Notice of executive No. 33768 dated 24 June 2017 (29/09/1438 AH) imposed a temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.


Based on OIE report No. 24912 dated 29 September 2017, the West-Vlaanderen, Belgium is free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from West-Vlaanderen, Belgium is negligible.
Le 2 novembre 2017, l'Autorité saoudienne des produits alimentaires et pharmaceutiques (SFDA) a publié un avis concernant l'Arrêté administratif n° 7195 levant l'interdiction temporaire de l'importation de viande de volaille, d'œufs et de leurs produits originaires de Flandre occidentale (Belgique). La SFDA avait imposé cette interdiction au moyen de l'Arrêté n° 33768 du 24 juin 2017 (29/09/1438 AH) en raison de l'apparition d'un foyer d'influenza aviaire hautement pathogène (IAHP) dans cette région.
Aux termes du rapport n° 24912 de l'OIE du 29 septembre 2017, la Flandre occidentale est indemne d'IAHP. Conformément au chapitre 10.4 du Code sanitaire pour les animaux terrestres de l'OIE, le risque découlant de l'importation de viande de volaille, d'œufs et de leurs produits en provenance de Flandre occidentale (Belgique) est négligeable.
En su Aviso de Orden Administrativa Nº 7195, de 2 de noviembre de 2017, el SFDA suspendió la prohibición temporal de las importaciones de carne y huevos de aves de corral, y sus productos provenientes de West-Vlaanderen (Bélgica). En su Aviso de Orden Ejecutiva Nº 33768, de 24 de junio de 2017 (día 29 del noveno mes del año 1438 de la Hégira), el SFDA había prohibido temporalmente las importaciones de carne y huevos de aves de corral, y sus productos provenientes de West-Vlaanderen (Bélgica) debido al brote de gripe aviar altamente patógena detectado en esa región.
De acuerdo con el informe de la OIE Nº 24912, de 29 de septiembre de 2017, West-Vlaanderen (Bélgica) está libre de la gripe aviar altamente patógena. De conformidad con lo establecido en el capítulo 10.4 del Código Sanitario para los Animales Terrestres de la OIE, el riesgo de importaciones de carne y huevos de aves de corral, y sus productos provenientes de West-Vlaanderen (Bélgica) es insignificante.
