6. Description of content

Following the OIE report, Ref. No. 28326 dated 6 November 2018, Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI) outbreaks have occurred in Voronezhskaya Oblast, Russian Federation. In compliance with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of avian influenza viruses) from Voronezhskaya Oblast, Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.
Aux termes du rapport de l'OIE n° 28326 du 6 novembre 2018, des foyers d'influenza aviaire hautement pathogène (IAHP) sont apparus dans l'oblast de Voronej (Fédération de Russie). Conformément au chapitre 10.4 du Code sanitaire pour les animaux terrestres de l'Organisation mondiale de la santé animale (OIE), il est jugé nécessaire que le Royaume d'Arabie saoudite prévienne l'entrée de l'IAHP sur son sol. Par conséquent, il est appliqué une suspension temporaire de l'importation dans le Royaume d'Arabie saoudite, depuis l'oblast de Voronej, de viande de volaille et d'œufs et de leurs produits (à l'exception de la viande de volaille transformée et des ovoproduits ayant subi un traitement thermique ou autre permettant d'assurer la neutralisation des virus de l'influenza aviaire).
El informe N° 28326 de la OIE, de 6 de noviembre de 2018, señala brotes del virus de la gripe aviar altamente patógena en la región de Vorónezh (Federación de Rusia). De conformidad con el capítulo 10.4 del Código Sanitario para los Animales Terrestres de la Organización Mundial de Sanidad Animal (OIE), el Reino de la Arabia Saudita debe tomar medidas para impedir la entrada de este virus en su territorio. Por lo tanto, se suspende temporalmente la importación en el Reino de la Arabia Saudita de carne y huevos de aves de corral, y sus productos, provenientes de la región de Vorónezh (Federación de Rusia) (la prohibición no se aplica a la carne de aves de corral elaborada ni a los productos a base de huevo sometidos a tratamiento térmico u otros tratamientos que aseguren la inactivación de los virus de la gripe aviar).

8. Nature of urgent problem

Outbreaks of HPAI have been reported in Voronezhskaya Oblast, Russian Federation by official announcement of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE). The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is instituting this emergency measure to prevent the introduction of HPAI into the country.
La présence de foyers d'IAHP dans l'oblast de Voronej (Fédération de Russie) a fait l'objet d'une annonce officielle de l'Organisation mondiale de la santé animale (OIE). Le Royaume d'Arabie saoudite établit la mesure d'urgence notifiée dans le but de prévenir l'introduction de l'IAHP sur son territoire.
En un aviso oficial, la Organización Mundial de Sanidad Animal (OIE) ha señalado brotes de gripe aviar altamente patógena en la región de Vorónezh (Federación de Rusia). El Reino de la Arabia Saudita adopta la medida de urgencia notificada para evitar la introducción de la gripe aviar altamente patógena en el país.
