6. Description of content

Following the OIE report, Ref. No. 24527 dated 10 August 2017, Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI) outbreaks have occurred in Xaysomboun special region, and Champasak, Lao People's Democratic Republic. In compliance with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of avian influenza viruses) from Xaysomboun special region, and Champasak, Lao People's Democratic Republic to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.
Aux termes du rapport de l'OIE n° 24527 du 10 août 2017, des foyers du virus de l'influenza aviaire hautement pathogène (IAHP) sont apparus dans la zone spéciale de Xaysomboun et à Champasak (République démocratique populaire lao). Conformément au chapitre 10.4 du Code sanitaire pour les animaux terrestres de l'Organisation mondiale de la santé animale (OIE), il est jugé nécessaire que le Royaume d'Arabie saoudite prévienne l'entrée de l'IAHP sur son sol. Par conséquent, il est appliqué une suspension temporaire de l'importation dans le Royaume d'Arabie saoudite, depuis la zone spéciale de Xaysomboun et Champasak (République démocratique populaire lao), de viande de volaille et d'œufs et de leurs produits (à l'exception de la viande de volaille transformée et des ovoproduits ayant subi un traitement thermique ou autre permettant d'assurer la neutralisation des virus de l'influenza aviaire).

De conformidad con el capítulo 10.4 del Código Terrestre de la Organización Mundial de Sanidad Animal (OIE), el Reino de la Arabia Saudita debe tomar medidas para impedir la entrada de este virus en su territorio. 8. Nature of urgent problem

Outbreaks of HPAI have been reported in Xaysomboun special region, and Champasak, Lao People's Democratic Republic by official announcement of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE). The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is instituting this emergency measure to prevent the introduction of HPAI into the country.
La présence de foyers d'IAHP dans la zone spéciale de Xaysomboun et à Champasak (République démocratique populaire lao) a fait l'objet d'une annonce officielle de l'Organisation mondiale de la santé animale (OIE). Le Royaume d'Arabie saoudite établit la mesure d'urgence notifiée dans le but de prévenir l'introduction de l'IAHP sur son territoire.
